Reproclaiming the Everlasting Gospel
I recently stumbled onto a downloadable file of Stephen Crisp's allegory, A Short History of a Long Travel from Babylon to Bethel. Even though the text is not very long, it provides a lot of material for pondering. You can download this work from archive.org. Go to https://archive.org/details/ashorthistoryofa15730gut. If you read this work and have comments, I would enjoy seeing them posted here.
Thanks for that Ellis I really liked it, just as much as Pilgrims Progress or maybe more as it spoke to me about my own journey more directly. Having false guides rang true before finding the light which got me there was something I identified with rather than having one trusted guide throughout and the bit about having to remove the old tattered clothing before 'squeezing through the gap' is certainly very rich in meaning, as signifying the stripping away of everything which comes before entering the paradise of the promised land or entire sanctification.
