Reproclaiming the Everlasting Gospel

Dear Ones,

I would like to know how one can go about teaching others about Our Lord and starting a small meeting for worship?

Any advice dear friends?

Love in the Light of Christ,

Brad

Hi Brad,

I would first of all seek the Lord's assurance, that this is indeed, what he is calling you to do. This stage is the most important, and the one we ought to be the most careful about. If we are not acting in the Lord's Power, our endeavours will come to nothing. Be clear, Brad, that Christ is leading you in this matter.

If you are clear, then begin to wait on our Lord, either in your own home or a local room for hire. Tell people about it, and be clear as you can about what the meeting is about, that is to wait on our Lord and receive his Teaching, and let the Lord do his work.

I hope that helps. Incidentally, Brad, where abouts in NC are you?

Hello Brad,

I can say "Amen" to all that Allistair has said. If you know the call of Christ to proclaim this everlasting gospel, be faithful to Christ your caller. He is at work in the hearts of those to whom you will be sent.  Though they put up what seems like impenetrable arguments against the Truth, if you stand faithful to him who has called you, his witness within them will bring them low before his power. This is a work that can't be done in our strength or our wisdom. We must stand before him aware of our emptiness and our powerlessness. Then we can be made fit instruments in his hand. If you have a copy of vol. 3 of the Works of Fox, read Edward Burrough's preface.

If you would like to join us, there is a small group of people who meet every third monday of the month via tele-conference call to read and consider Fox's writings. If you are interested, I will send you the call-in information.

@Ellis,

I am interested...Also, who prints Fox's Works? been looking a print copy.

@Alistair,

I live in Eastern NC, a town called Wilson, 30 miles due east of Raliegh.

Thank you for the words of wisdom. I will wait upon the Lord, and listen. More later.

regarding the Works of Fox. They are currently out of print. They were most recently put out by the New Foundation Fellowship in the U.S. They have been sold out for more than a year, perhaps as much as two years. You might be able to find them on the used market. Also, sometimes the Haverford College Quaker Collection has duplicates of these and sells them. I have to get off the computer, so will send another comment later with the call-in information for the Fox Reading call.

Is there not a version of the Works on CD?

I have not heard that this is out yet. I could be mistaken.

Brad, The call information for the monthly Fox Reading Call is (712) 432-1600. You will be asked for an access code which is 415332# We will be finishing up Sermon 1 in the book "That Thy Candles May Always Be Burning". If you don't have a copy of that, they are available from Terry Wallace thswallace[at]aol.com. (Replace the [at] with @ to make that a workable email address.)

These calls are the third monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. mountain time, 9:00 p.m. eastern. If you want monthly email reminders sent to you, contact my son, Lewis, (lhein[at]vcn.com)
