The woman and the coin
I have been thinking about the reports in the British press that the Quakers (ie in Britain) are considering 'dropping God'. While this was a somewhat exaggerated report, there is a strong strain of nontheism or atheism in UK Quakers. I find this difficult, as I joined Quakers not to become a better person or find like minded people or even to do good in the world. I joined only to look for God. Welcome to our site, Del. Sorry, but there will be no Welsh from me. That is Allistair's bailiwick. I have trouble enough with English. I look forward to hearing about you and how you hope we can be of help. My wife and I host two conference calls each month for the purpose of reading and discussing the writings of George Fox. One call is every second Saturday of the month at 7:45 a.m. Mountain Time (USA). The other call is every third Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time. The Saturday calls could fit into someone's time frame in the UK or if you are a dedicated "night owl" and are wide awake at that time, feel free to join the Monday calls.
