Welcome, Jaakko.
I wonder if you could tell the other members of the site, a little bit abut yourself.
Hello Jaakko, I am curious to know more about you and your interest in the work of the NFF.
Jaakko, This is in answer to your question of telling you something of myself (in the message you left me). I grew up among Evangelical Friends. Even though there was much talk about Christ, There was little depth in understanding how it is that Christ is able to save men and what that salvation looks like. They had very little knowledge of the depths of the early Friends understanding and experience of the work of Christ in the midst of his people. I found that my experience was like living in Ezekiel's valley of dry bones, and I came to have a burning question of "Can these bones live?" I asked my question is several places and no one could give me an answer. In 1983, I attended a gathering of the New Foundation Fellowship and again asked my question. Though there was no outward answer, I found bone being joined to bone, flesh and sinew began to clothe the bones, and the breath of life blew over the valley and the bones became living beings. I became a living being with a commission to work at spreading the message of the early Friends.

Hello Jaakko, In answer to your questions. The gathering I attended in 1983 was the annual gathering of the NFF which took place in Pennsylvania that year. I returned from that gathering to my home, then in Oklahoma, and worked among the Evangelical Friends there to bring them the message of the early Friends. In 1987, during the regular church service, the Lord spoke to me saying, "Ellis, it is enough. Come out from among them." I grew up among extended family and many family friends. My culture was conformity to family/church pressure. But now I had the choice of defying this culture or disobeying the command of God. Though my knees were as weak as water, the Lord made me to stand firm in my obedience to him. I am not a member of any yearly meeting. There is a small group of us who gather every week for worship and discussion.
