"I take it by your comments that you have not given up on the New Foundation Fellowship nor our effort to proclaim the gospel preached by Fox and the other early Quakers. I have found this gospel to be a place to stand no matter what storms rage."

"hi Ellis   yes you are right.  There is even a debate over here as to whether BYM should still use the title "Religious" Society of Friends.  Aparently that may put some people off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Hi Emma, nice to hear from you again!

How's everything up in Scholes Meeting these days?

Thank you for your response, Emma. I had debated leaving the society, I feel so out-of-tune with the way it is going, especially after the 2009 BYM. I tried to accept that decisions made there were the work of the Spirit, and that I was wrong not to support them, but to this day I feel very uncomfortable about it all.

When the weather improves I would like to come over and visit your meeting. You are not that far away. I can't leave where I am now, as I'm looking after a lock cottage for a friend until June. (We're threatened by the river Derwent flooding badly, as I write!)

I've lived on my narrowboat, Dreamcatcher, for eleven years now, and love it. I'm open boat to visitors in the summer and may be cruising to Ripon, then to the Chesterfield canal before returning to Sutton upon Derwent, my winter mooring spot.

Hi Emma,

I'm sorry to hear that you have left BYM, but I hope you won't 'leave' Quakers completely. The treatment of the old Quaker at the conference was dreadful but unfortunately all too common. I'm afraid their tolerance is designed only to extend to them but not from them, which is deeply hypocritical.

If you ever need some unprogrammed, Christian worship, please feel free to join us at Ripley. You're welcome anytime.

Hi Emma,

Since "Friends" have arrived at their current status by systematically rejecting everything George Fox and the early Friends proclaimed and stood for, what grounds have they to use the name? This is clearly a taxonomical crisis, like calling sunflowers "roses" because rose sounds more sophisticated or something. By the fruit you know the tree. I am very sad to hear your account of this incident.
