I'm glad to be your friend, Richard, and also a resource if needed. Ellis has been a Quaker for many years and is very familiar with the writings of George Fox and other early Quakers. I'm from a mixed religious background (mostly in the Evangelical sphere) but have been a Quaker at heart for a long time. My burden is to see the spiritual truth and power of the early Quaker movement be proclaimed and known in our time to the broader Christian world, and to the world in general. This wonderful gospel of the kingdom deserves a wider circulation than sectarian Quakers have been able to accomplish.
If I can do anything to help or encourage you in your spiritual walk, Richard, don't hesitate to ask. I'm happy to help if I can. God bless.
Richard, You may be interested in participating in a monthly conference call my wife and I host. The purpose of the call is to read and discuss the writings of George Fox. Our next call will be Monday the 16th at 8:00 p.m. eastern time. We are currently working our way through the book "That Thy Candles May Always Be Burning" which is a compilation of nine sermons preached by Fox and taken down in short hand at the time of delivery. If you are interested, let me know and I'll send you the call-in information.
Hello Ellis. I think I would be interested in the conference call, but the time could be a little problematic. I am a hospice chaplain, on call at any time, so I never know when I'll be called out.
This April will be my sixth year ( DV) in this ministry, but it may change by the end of May 2015, when our hospital merges with a larger one. I will know more about my schedule then. Right now, I cannot commit to any regular schedule.
For now, if I may be allowed to join you all when I am available, that would be wonderful.
