Reproclaiming the Everlasting Gospel

Sad news from the UK, concerning Ursula Windsor

Yesterday, I received the sad news that our dear Friend, and long-time New Foundation Worker, Ursula Windsor passed away two days ago (29-3-2015)

Even though this may not be the most suitable or appropriate means for sharing news of this nature, nevertheless, I feel it right to use our web site to let Friends now that this has happened.

We in the UK keenly feel Ursula's passing, because of her long and sustained contribution to our work. She was one of the last links to the very beginnings of the New Foundation in the UK. Ursula and her husband Arthur, worked closely with Lewis and Sarah Benson, in spiritual fellowship which stretched back to the 1950's. They were involved with the Publishers of Truth, and the Call Group in the UK prior to the formation of the New Foundation, and they were part of the core group which formed the New Foundation in the UK in the 1970's, following the visit of Lewis Benson to the UK.

She spent the next 40 years of her life dedicated to proclaiming and living the Gospel preached by Fox and the early Quakers, and she had a 'great love of the Truth'.

She was a great encourager, a faithful and gifted minister, and to me, one of my spiritual mentors. She was a 'Mother in Israel'. Her latter years saw ill-health and the onset of Alzheimers, but she supported and encouraged us as long as she could.

She will be sorely missed.

I will post details of funeral arrangements when they become available.

Thank you, Allistair, for posting this and for including the photo of Ursula. There are many of us who have had precious experiences of both Arthur's and Ursula's ministry and encouragement. They were always there and ready for what was required of them.

Ursula was the last of the generation that began New Foundation Fellowship. She was solid in her faith and devotion to the work, and we all benefited from her example. She is one to whom it might be said: Well done, thou good and faithful servant.

I received notice of Ursula's funeral arrangements, yesterday from her daughter, Marianne.

"Dear Friends,

Ursula's funeral will take place on Wednesday 22nd April at 2pm at the Gloucester Crematorium, Coney Hill, Gloucester GL4 4PA, and afterwards at the Friends Meeting House, Greyfriars, Gloucester, GL1 1TS.

If you are thinking of coming to the funeral, and are travelling some distance, you may like to know that there is a café at the Crematorium, where you can get some sustenance after your journey.

With best wishes,

Helen, Marianne and Morris"
