i'm sure you would be very welcome. We are meeting of mainly older folk but by and large Christ centred. The general feeling in the rest of Brighouse Area meeting is that we are a bit odd!!!!!
Perhaps Paul and I will come and visit your boat in the summer.
I have a special pleasure when I receive your post. Thanks for your kindness. Well in Portugal I think I am the only Friend in my country. I am a conservative Quaker but alone. For this reason I am absolutely interested in all contacts abroad. PauLo
Hi, I'm afraid we have now left BYM. In the end we couldn't cope with the aparent lack of Christ centred fellowship in the wider Quaker Community. The end came for me when at the end of a conference about how to inspire small meetings, a lovely Welsh Quaker stood up and ministered that he hadn't heard God mentioned all week. he was shouted down and booed - poor man. That was the end for me. I thought Quakers were meant to be tolerant? We have gone back to our Catholic church but I do miss the Quaker ministry and feel able to keep up with NFF.
I think that is very sad, Emma, that any Quakers could be so intolerant. But, if the intolerant Quakers were non-theist, doesn't that tell you something?
I have been absent from this site for a long while. Wasn't sure where my roots were any more, but I've now been shown that they are with the NFF, so here I am again.
Jose, if you want to communicate with me direcetly by email at any time, you will find me at
I have been intending to contact you for some time.
My Son and Daughter in Law, like you. cruise the waterways of Britain. I will shortly be seeing them at Boroughbridge Yorkshire, where they are moored at present. My limited experience- through them- of life on the waterways shows me that the "cruisers" are the nearest I have come across to a christian community. The help they give to each other is an example to the World.
The NFF exists to preach the Christian Message that was proclaimed by the Early Friends.

Hi Tony, if you are on the Derwent, you must be pretty close to us.

Dear Tone,
I have been intending to contact you for some time.

Tone,
I am very enthusiastic about your proposal that we carry out a survey of meetings. It is something that could be discussed at Woodbrooke.
If you are not going to Woodbrooke, perhaps we could meet up, a little later, in York.
Thy Christian Friend,
Malcolm
