Hi Alistair, great to be back.  Things at Scholes are same as always really.  We had a fairly unsuccessful Quaker Quest mainly because it was taken over by a devotee of Krishnamurti who felt that there should not be an overtly Christian imput.  We therefore had a lot of people who came the first week expecting a form of Christianity - got Krishnamurti instead and didn't come back!!!!

Paul is more of a Universalist Quaker so for him at the moment NFF is not the right place for him to be.

Greetings to you all

Emma

Friend,

Is it always this quiet here on NFFQuaker?

Hi Bradley, yes, it is. We are a relatively small group of people and as a consequence, there is not as much activity as I would like. Also, I think we are still getting used to having this kind of medium with which to preach the Gospel. Hopefully, that will change as people get more used to using the site. How would you feel about us establishing a forum on NFFQuaker aimed specifically at newcomers and creating space for people to ask questions about the faith of Early Friends?

Allistair,   I am sorry if this is not a public conversation here and I should not be putting in my two cents (don't know the British equivalent for the expression). I think this would be an excellent idea. I have been wondering about having something of the sort.

We could call it the "Bull and Mouth" or "The Threshing Floor"

hi Alistair

thanks for your message.  We are currently worshipping at our local RC church for lots of reasons.  however, eventually I think we will return to worshipping simply at home.  We will never return to BYM while it is as it is.  We only pray that somehow the Light of Christ convicts them.  We understand that membership is dangerously low, so perhaps that will persuade them to turn back to Christ.

A brief introduction here I am Lewis Hein from Casper, Wy, (son of Ellis Hein). I hope not to be too sporadic with my participation here, though I haven't really been prompt introducing myself. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, birdwatching, and nature photography. I find the message of the Early Friends to be quite profound, and have been helped by it many times along my way

Thanks for the invitation, Alistair. I do wish you every success, but it is long way for me and expensive on petrol so will remember you prayerfully.

Allistair, This is great news that you are thinking of attending the gathering here, next summer. I am sure we would all be greatly encouraged to have you among us. I hope it comes to pass.

Thank you Alistair for the welcome - sorry it has taken me so long. I have already sent a message to Alistair to remind him that you already know me but by the name of Jackson. I know Themis will remember :) I was not sure whether there was a place here for me despite my belief that Fox was the most enlightened man apart from the early apostles. But I do not agree with todays teaching that sanctification is a process that is not fully achieved till death and absolutley do not believe that Fox taught it. I would love to get into more discussions about this as I have been having in the Salvation Army and thankfully some interest is there and I have been allowed to start a discussion group on Jan 19th on this subject. The SA has moved a long way from holiness doctrine as taught by Samuel Brengle. I hope to reawaken the interest. Anyway hello!

I don't know if my article added today 24/11/18 was worthwhile.
