Hello Heinz, I am glad to see you back on the site. Can you give us an update on what you have been doing and where you have been? It has been quite a while since I have heard anything about your activities.

Welcome, Heinz! Ellis Hein knows you from another time, and that makes me wonder if previously you've been connected to NFF. I hope you'll write something about yourself and your interest in Quaker faith. - Patricia Dallmann

I am sure that it was Allistair who processed your request for membership. I have always wondered how it could be that a Quaker could survive in a monastery. This past winter, we read aloud, as is our custom in the evenings, a two volume set of the travels of Margaretha Wepner. She was a Catholic, German lady who made a trip around the world and wrote about her experiences. She could not stand to stay in monasteries and some of her remarks reminded me of the early Quakers. I can't help myself when I read such books, I want to introduce them to the writings of George Fox and other early Friends, but I am always caught up short realizing they are no longer alive. So, where are the living people who are interested in knowing the gospel preached by Fox? It sounds like you have found some there. I am glad to be back in touch with you.

I have started a new venture. It began with putting comments on other people's blogs (Quakers of one stripe or another). But I was always having to respond to things they started. So I have begun a blog of my own. I can post material that seems appropriate and necessary. I can link to various things on the NFF site which is driving some traffic  there. If you want to see it, go to https://thiswasthetruelight.wordpress.com.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I neglected to say that Margaretha Wepner's travels were in the latter part of the 1800s. She went across the U.S. on the transcontinental railroad which wasn't finished before 1869. So she would have had to be sometime after that, but I don't remember for sure.
